Dermaroller vs Fractional Laser
Dermaroller vs Fractional Laser
Fractional Laser therapies are one of the hottest or advance skin treatment procedures and have come across the globe and popular to many celebrities and high profile beauties. It has become accessible to financially stable and capable people because the usual costs per treatment are $900 - $1,200 still depending on the areas being treated.
What does fractional laser therapy can do to my aging skin problem? A question which one person who is looking for answers to problems on skin aging, permanent acne removal, skin pigmentation problems, and skin rejuvenation. Here are some quoted definitions from two websites for fractional laser therapy:
According to a website http://seattletimes.com/html/health/2013936654_laser18.html “Fractional laser resurfacing is a type of skin rejuvenation that targets small areas of the skin, leaving other areas of the skin untouched. The laser beam is fractionated, or broken up, hence the...Areas of the skin, typically the face, are treated in microzones while tiny adjoining areas are untreated, allowing for more rapid recovery. The parts of the skin that are treated experience a laser injury that promotes new collagen production and all over skin rejuvenation.”
Also another definition from http://www.dermnetnz.org/procedures/fractional.html “Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive treatment that uses a device to deliver a laser beam divided into thousands of microscopic treatment zones that target a fraction of the skin at a time. This is analogous to a photographic image being enhanced or altered pixel by pixel.
Fractional laser treatment has bridged the gap between the ablative and non-ablative laser techniques used to treat sun-damaged and aging skin. Whilst ablative laser treatments work mainly on the epidermis (surface skin cells) and non-ablative treatments work solely on dermal collagen (mid-layer of skin) only, fractional laser treatment works at both the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin”.
The next question one ordinary person can ask regarding finding solutions for aging skin problems is that “how far can I go or how am I financially capable of availing such sophisticated and aggressive therapy procedures?”
It is quite not a guilt looking for alternatives these days, especially when financial crisis strikes. Some alternative solution for skin rejuvenation, skin aging, acne removal, and others are also in the market for options.
I found Dermaroller Micro-needle Skin Therapy that costs about $90 - $200 for the same effect as with fractional laser therapy. According to MTSRoller.com, “it is one, non-invasive and cost effective solution to skin aging and wrinkle, acne removal” also from the same site it says “Derma Roller known as Skin Roller, as a skincare device, is designed to use on Derma Rolling System which is called a 4-generation skincare program and consisted of various kinds of needles, such as 0.25mm∼2.5mm, for optimal treatment on the skin”.
The concept behind this Dermaroller is that the micro-needles penetrates the stratum corneum, corneum the hard outer surface of the epidermal layer of the skin, body or scalp. Hundreds of tiny channels are created through the stratum corneum, which facilitate the passage and absorption of your skin care product, or minoxidil for hair restoration into the dermis, to maximize its absorption. It gently exfoliates excess skin cells which contribute to hair follicle malnutrition, scaring or premature aging, and ultimately hair follicle failure, wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite and scars. The roller stimulates blood flow to the surface, gives a skin massage, cleans out the pores and stimulates collagen re-growth.
It seemed to have the same effect as Laser treatment but more of a cost effective solution.
